Terms & Conditions

Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law

Your purchase of Goods is subject to certain laws including, without limitation, the Australian Consumer Law. The Australian Consumer Law provides you with certain rights that cannot be excluded, including that the Goods:

  • must be of acceptable quality;

  • be reasonably fit for the purpose that we say they will be fit for; and

  • Will correspond with any relevant description.

 

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions shall be read or applied so as to exclude, restrict or modify or have the effect of excluding, restricting or modifying any condition, warranty, guarantee, right or remedy implied by law (including the Australian Consumer Law) which cannot by law be excluded, restricted or modified.

Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law

Making payment

A 30% deposit is required to place an orderr when paying via credit/debit card. The remaining balance must be paid 2 business days prior to the delivery of your goods.

The remaining balance can be paid via bank transfer, in the showroom, or can be processed over the phone. Delivery cannot be booked until payment has been received in full. Payments cannot be made on delivery. All goods remain the property of Original Furniture until full payment has been received by Original Furniture.

Order cancellation

At Original Furniture, we work hard to ensure our customers are happy with their purchases for years to come. We understand that in some rare circumstances cancellation is difficult to avoid.

Orders can be cancelled free of charge within the first 24 hours of placing the order. After this time a fee of 10% of the total purchase price for standard products, or 20% of the customization products will apply to account for costs incurred by original furniture as a result of the cancellation.

Storage

A penalty will be applied for any extension of products storage. 

Three months free storage after items arrived in warehouse. $100 per week after three-month free storage period.

Lay-by terms and conditions

Lay-by can only be made in store - A minimum deposit of 30% of the total purchase price of products is required to make special orders. Rest of the payment must be finalised by the due date. Your lay-by products must be collected prior to the due date, otherwise, penalty would be taken for storage extension. When you cancel your lay-by, all money will be refunded to you except for a reasonable amount to cover storage and administrative costs. If the payments aren't finalised or you don't collect your lay-by by the due date, the lay-by will be cancelled, and all the money will be refunded to your except for a reasonable amount to cover storage and administrative consts. Valid identical document with photo will be required when you replace lay-by document.

Changing or amending an order

Original Furniture shall not accept a cancellation if your simply change your mind, unless Original Furniture chooses to do so at its absolute discretion. If Original Furniture does accept such cancellations:

I. 30% of the invoice value will be taken as cancellation fee for cancellation;

II. If for any reason we are unable to supply the goods any monies paid will be refunded to you.

III. Please be advised that under relevant health regulations, all soft furnishing items (including sheets, pillows, pillow cases, mattress toppers etc.) are non-refundable unless faulty.

Delivery & Pickup

I. Full payment is required to arrange delivery.

II. Delivery times quoted by Original Furniture are approximate only. We are not responsible for any delays

III. Subsequent delivery will be arranged if you don't provide reasonable access for your location. You will be charged for subsequent delivery.

IV. Please inspect your goods carefully on delivery. If there is any damage on the goods, reports to carrier or store staffs immediately. After you signed on the delivery document, we are not responsible for any damage on the goods.

V. Disposal of packaging is the responsibility of customers. Original Furniture are not responsible for package removal.

VI. When pick-up in store or warehouse, please inspect the goods carefully, and report any detected damage to store or warehouse staff. Once you finished inspection and signed on the pick-up document, we are not responsible for any damage on the goods.
